23 held with ‘fire arms, drugs’

Police in separate drives at different places of Fatulla area in Narayanganj on Saturday night detained 23 alleged drug peddlers, seizing ‘drugs and a fire arms’ from their possessions.

Police claimed that one of the detainees, Moffazzal Hossain Chunnu (44), son of Taleb Hossain, is a notorious drug peddler and terrorist and is wanted in ten criminal cases. A team of Fatulla police led by OC Aslam Hossain arrested chunnu from his village kutubpur, and seized a revolver and 500 pieces of yaba tablets.

Police claimed that during the arrest, Chunnu’s accomplices attacked police to snatch him from their custody. They threw brick chips injuring five cops who were treated at Khanpur Hospital in the town.  

After the arrest of Chunnu, police carried out a series of drives at different parts of Fatullah, detaining 22 other drug dealers and recovering 23 grams of heroin and 70 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession.

Two separate cases under arms act and narcotics act have been filed with Fatulla police station in this regard.
