22 veterinary medical teams deployed at capital’s cattle markets

A total of 22 veterinary medical teams of the Department of Livestock have been appointed from Thursday to provide veterinary medical services at Sacrificial Animal Market in the capital. 

These teams have started work at the cattle market approved by Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation. Under the direction of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, these medical teams are working to prevent the sale of diseased and unsuitable cattle at the market. 

Besides, 1,739 veterinary medical teams are working in makeshift market across the country. At the same time 1 specialist veterinary medical team is also working.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock will supervise the activities of the veterinary medical team and other activities at these cattle markets in the capital. The ministry has given responsibility to nine deputy secretary level officials of the ministry at the designated cattle market. 

Besides the officials of the ministry, 12 monitoring teams of the Livestock Department will also supervise the cattle markets in the capital.
