Rapid Action Battalion arrested 20 people on allegation of gambling from at the central bus terminal in Narayanganj city on Monday night.
The arrestees have been identified as Md. Robiul Islam, 37, Md. Selim, 40, Md. Shakhawat Hossain, 33, Md. Badshah, 22, Md. Komol, 55, Md. Iqbal Hossain, 37, Md. Mozammel Shikder, 45, Md. Ali Akkas, 76, Md. Shahid Rahman, 52, Md. Ratan, 52, Ratan Chndra Barman, 55, Prodip Chandra Das, 30, Samsul Haq Pakhi, 45, Md. Amir, 58, Md. Dulaluddin, 38, Md. Mizanur Rahaman, 45, Topon Khandaker, 60, Poritosh Shaha, 37, Md. Selim Khan, 48 and Gourango Malakar, 48.
Additional Police Super Md. Jasimuddin Chowdhury of RAB-11 in a brief claimed that an organizer and a ring leader of gambling board Shahjahan have been running gambling and narcotics trading in different part of the town including central bus terminal area.
It is noted that the gambling zone where RAB raided on Monday, the Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station, Railway Police camp and river police station are almost hundred yards off from the spot.
A case was recorded with Sadar Model Police Station in this regard.
