170 fined for travelling without tickets

A mobile court by Pakshi railway department has fined 170 passengers for travelling without tickets on the roof of the train. 

Security members of Pakshi railway department detained the passengers of Ishwardi-Dhaka route by block checking from 9.00 am to 9.00pm on Thursday. Tk35, 400 was fined from these passengers.

A team led by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Ahsanullah Bhuiyan has conducted the drive.

Commercial officer of Pakshi Railway division, Anwar Hossain, Railway Security Commandant Rezaun-ur-Rahman, Traffic inspector Sazedul Islam Babu, Mobile ticket inspector Abdul Mabud, Mobile ticket checker Gour Sing, Shafiqul Islam along with other staff were present at that time.

Pakshi Railway Divisional Commercial Officer Anwar Hossain said we could not find any ticket from 170 passengers, who are travelling from Rajshahi to Dhaka intercity (Silkcity), Dhaka bound Panchagar and Rangpur express. Therefore, we fined 170 passengers Tk 35, 400 for travelling without tickets and Tk 11,800 for travelling on the train’s roof.
