12 DU students get Dean’s award

A total of 12 meritorious students from different departments under the Faculty of Pharmacy of Dhaka University (DU) have been given ‘Dean’s Award’ for their excellent academic results in ‘B. Pharm professional examinations’ of 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. 

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Akhtaruzzaman distributed the awards among the students at a function held on Tuesday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university, read a press release.

Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar presided over the function while DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Emeritus Professor Dr. A K Azad Chowdhury addressed it as special guests. 

Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Firoj Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Akhtaruzzaman urged the meritorious students to play an effective role to promote the health care sector as well as the pharmaceutical industry of the country. 

He stressed the need for strengthening cooperation between industry and academia for overall development of our socio-economic condition. He emphasized on advanced level research and technological innovations through proper utilization of scientific knowledge. 

The VC called upon all to make Bangladesh a developed country by using opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution properly.

The recipients of Dean’s Awards are Faria Tasneem, Mokaddas Flora Ananta, Faisal Abdullah Emon, Nazifa Tabassum, Md. Sabbir Hossain, Saimon Shahriar, Rashmia Nargis Reyda, Kazi Milenur Rahman Prattay, Asef Raj, Ahad Chowdhury, Sadia Tasnim Mina and Nusrat Jahan Shawon.
