The Bangladesh Mobile Phone Subscribers Association has claimed that ten youths have lost their lives while trying to make TikTok videos this year. As can be seen in the organization's message report on Wednesday, over the past few years the abuse of Chinese short video making platform TikTok has increased so much that TikTok, one of the means of social communication, has emerged as a death trap among the current generation of young people. Sanjida Akhter, an 11-year-old girl, died on July 8 when she slipped while making a tick video in Chatkhil, Noakhali. Mehedi Hasan, a 15-year-old teenager, died after slipping on the roof of a moving train in Comilla last night. Arafat, an eighth-grade student, was killed in March 2019 over a tick-tock video upload.

On March 2, 2022, while trying to make a tick in Kalokhali upazila of Rajbari district, Hossain (18) died while standing on the railway bridge.

On 6 May 2022, Sumi Akhter (19) committed suicide by drinking pesticides after being prevented from ticking in Kalia, Narail.

On 16th May 2022, a teenager named Hridoy (15) at Lal Bridge and Dure Hridoy in Alamdanga town of Chuadanga was cut in front of Khulna Nakshi Kantha Express train at around 5 pm while making a tiktok. Heart tiktok video was made at the funeral standing on the railway line.

On 22 May 2022, a 16-year-old boy named Mustakim Islam drowned in the river while doing tiktok at Syedpur in Nilphamari.

Anil (14), a teenager, fell from the 6th floor of a three-storey building under construction while making a tiktok video in Narayanganj on November 20 last year. The tiktok authorities can in no way avoid responsibility for the deaths of young women. They have to take the responsibility.

In addition, many more teenagers have died while trying to make tiktok, the exact cause of which has not been identified and has not been revealed.

The young woman was trafficked to India in the temptation to make tiktok last year. In June last year, a young woman was raped after being trapped by a tick. Besides, one of the reasons for the formation of a teenage gang in the neighborhood is tick talk. Mohiuddin Ahmed, president of an organization dedicated to protecting the interests of consumers, said that although tiktok was the cause of death of so many young women, no guardian of Bangladesh has filed a case against the tiktok authorities so far. Tick Talk is not a licensed organization in Bangladesh. This organization earns several thousand crores of revenue from Bangladesh but the government does not get any kind of revenue from this platform. On the contrary, it has been seen at various times that pictures of the Prime Minister or pictures of various top celebrities have been published in a satirical manner to make a tick video. We have already learned that the Hon'ble Minister of Posts and Telecommunications has contacted the authorities. But our demand is to form a high level inquiry committee with the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications as Chairman or any member of the Commission or Secretary as Secretary to take necessary action against TikTok with compensation. Due to the situation, it has become necessary to close this platform.
